The only screening available to stomach and intestinal is for colorectal cancer, also known as colon cancer. Screening one of the most powerful ways to prevent colorectal cancer. For other forms of stomach and intestinal cancer, it’s important to know the signs and risks.

Stomach cancer symptoms
- Lack of appetite
- Unexplained weight loss
- Abdominal pain
- A sense of fullness in the upper abdomen after eating a small meal
- Heartburn or indigestion
- Nausea
- Vomiting, with or without blood
Intestinal cancer symptoms
- Abdominal pain
- Unexplained weight loss
- Weakness or fatigue
- Bloody or tarry stools
- A noticeable lump in the abdomen

Stomach & Intestinal Risk Factors
Risk factors are genes, lifestyle choices, conditions or exposure may increase your risk for developing cancer. At Baptist MD Anderson, we offer genetic counseling services, which identifies higher risks for cancer. These assessments check for inherited cancer syndromes or cancer predisposition.
