PREPARING FOR CARE
Insurance, Billing and Financial Support
We know billing and insurance can be an overwhelming process. The last thing we want you to worry about is your medical bill. That’s why we want to let you know how our billing works before you receive a statement from us. We are also available to talk you through any questions and provide financial counseling services.
INSURANCE INFORMATION
Accepted Insurance Plans
If you provide your insurance information, we will file your insurance claim for you. After receiving the explanation of benefits statement from your insurance company, you may receive a bill that reflects any uncovered charges such as deductibles, co-payments or other uncovered expenses.
Please advise us of any changes to your insurance information or mailing address.
If you do not have health care coverage you will be asked to pay a portion of your estimated charges at the time of service. You may contact customer service at 904.202.2092 to discuss available payment options. You will be responsible for any co-pay, co-insurance, deductible, or non-covered services at the time of each visit.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our Billing Process
We encourage you to be proactive about your finances. Working with your insurance company and Baptist MD Anderson, you can determine an estimate of what your out-of-pocket expense will be before you receive tests or treatments. That way, any necessary financial arrangements can be made ahead of time.
Starting July 30, 2022, our billing process is changing to improve and streamline your experience with Baptist Health. During this transition period, you may have bills from the old and new system, so please follow these instructions for your hospital and physician bills.
Moving forward, you will start receiving one simplified statement that shows physician and hospital balances together. Additionally, all your Baptist Health bills will look the same, whether from a primary care or specialty physician, tests or a hospital visit. Using My Baptist Chart, you'll always have access to your statements, and more.
The facility fee, which will be charged on your first visit to the cancer center, covers support services accessible during and after your treatment. Those services include a full-time nutritionist, social worker, chaplain, survivorship navigators, and other programs you’ll encounter along the way.
