Blaine D. Smith, MD, FACS is a board-certified otolaryngologist with advanced training in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction. He specializes in the surgical treatment of head and neck cancers and reconstructive procedures that restore form and function following cancer surgery. Dr. Smith also devotes a significant portion of his practice to complex adult thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He has earned his Focused Practice Designation in Adult Complex Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery (ACTPS). The ACTPS designation recognizing surgeons with specialized expertise in treating benign and malignant, functional and nonfunctional disorders of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. This distinguished credential reflects his advanced skill and commitment to delivering highly specialized endocrine surgical care. In addition to his surgical expertise, Dr. Smith is deeply committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care tailored to the needs of every patient.

About Me

I am a native Texan and lived in North Carolina for my post-graduate medical training. My wife is a native of Central Florida and we are excited to put down roots in Jacksonville. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, cooking and golfing.

Patients who are diagnosed with head and neck cancer often experience significant fear and anxiety surrounding their diagnosis. My job is to listen to the patient and their family and provide evidence-based, compassionate care that takes the individual's goals and values into account.
